If you pay a person to restore or renovate residential or commercial property constructed prior to 1978 or are making remodeling or maintenance tasks to child occupied properties constructed prior to 1978, it is necessary to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA’s) Renovation, Repair & Painting (RRP) Lead Law – legislation that turned effective on April 22, 2010.

Residential and commercial property renovating, restoration and remodelling activities such as cutting, sanding, and demolition. These actions can produce dangerous lead dust and chips and this can be dangerous to adults and children. Actually, lead dusting lower than 1/16 of a sugar packet may cause permanent destruction of a child’s central nervous system, cerebral performance and general wellness. Because of this, any activity that affects paint in pre-1978 property and child-occupied facilities are governed by this RRP Lead Law.
